About My Binocular Harness

Updated on

My Binocular Harness is an independent site that helps you choose binoculars, and the harness or strap you carry them with.

Despite the name, we don't make or sell harnesses, straps or binoculars. We read, compare and explain, and we link to stores where you can buy.

What we cover

Our guides cover binoculars for birding, travel, whale watching and hunting. We compare 8x42, 10x42, lightweight and compact pairs, and we look at chest harnesses, chest packs and neck straps.

We also explain the basics in plain words: field of view, exit pupil, ED glass, prism types and how to adjust a pair to your eyes.

How we work

For every product we cover, we read the specs and maker information. We also look at what buyers often say after using it.

Then we turn that into plain comparisons and clear picks. Our How we research page has the full steps.

What we don't do

No brand pays us to rank its products. We aren't connected to any maker or seller.

We don't claim to have tested every product ourselves. When we pick something, we tell you why, based on its specs, its features and buyer feedback.

How we earn money

Some links on this site go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never changes which products we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
